Public Agenda is a national research-to-action organization—discovering and translating knowledge on the key questions facing our democracy. Agenda-setting theory discusses the media's influence on society by controlling what to think about and how to think about it. This happens by emphasising certain news repeatedly. The theory has two fundamental assumptions: The media yields authority over the truth behind the information by showing it selectively and not comprehensively.Our work includes civic engagement, systemically building racial equity, and supporting policies and institutions that prioritize the urgent needs of Black people, who are most impacted by race-based discrimination.
